Learning and Development / Training and Development
Assessment is a critical component of credible education, training, and workplace skills development. In any learning environment, learners must not only complete training activities, but also be assessed fairly and consistently to confirm whether they have achieved the required competence.
The Occupational Skill Programme: Assessment Practitioner prepares learners to plan, conduct, and administer assessments in accordance with occupational standards and quality assurance requirements. It develops the professional skills needed to evaluate evidence of competence, make sound assessment decisions, and provide meaningful feedback that supports learner improvement.
The role of an Assessment Practitioner is important because assessment protects the integrity of learning outcomes. A well-conducted assessment ensures that learners are judged against clear criteria, that evidence is reviewed properly, and that assessment decisions are fair, valid, reliable, and transparent.
This programme is especially valuable for trainers, facilitators, workplace supervisors, mentors, team leaders, HR development staff, and professionals involved in learning and development. It is also suitable for those who support workplace-based learning, skills programmes, occupational training, and practical competence development.
Upon completion of the programme, learners will be able to prepare assessment plans, conduct assessments in different learning and workplace contexts, evaluate learner evidence, record assessment outcomes, and apply recognised assessment principles and practices. They will also understand how assessment contributes to quality assurance, learner progression, and workplace readiness.
